Edwin Chandler

Convicted of the 1995 murder of Brenda Whitfield, Mr. Edwin Chandler maintained he was innocent. In 2009, a re-investigation into the murder of Ms. Whitfield revealed Mr. Percy Phillips was the actual perpetrator and confirmed Mr. Chandler was innocent. Mr. Phillips was indicted for the murder and Mr. Chandler was exonerated. In May 2021, former homicide Detective Mark Handy pleaded guilty to one count of perjury related to Mr. Chandler's wrongful conviction.

Kerry Porter

Mr. Kerry Porter was convicted of the 1996 murder of Tyrone Camp. Mr. Porter insisted he was innocent. A 2011 re-investigation into the murder of Tyrone Camp confirmed Mr. Porter's innocence. The strongest advocate for Mr. Porter's innocence was Tyrone's twin brother Jerome. Suspects in the murder of Tyrone Camp were idientified through the re-investigation, but the case remains unsolved.

Garr Keith Hardin & Jeffrey Clark

Mr. Garr Keith Hardin and Mr. Jeffery Clark were convicted of the 1992 murder of Brenda Sue Warford. Both Mr. Hardin and Mr. Clark maintained they were innocent of the crime and both received life sentences. In a 2016 Court Order from the trial court, both were given new trials based partly on misconduct from a lead investigator, Mark Handy. In 2018, the criminal charges related to the murder of Ms. Warford against Mr. Hardin and Mr. Clark were dismissed. The murder of Brenda Sue Warford remains unsloved.

Keith West

Mr. Keith West was convicted of two counts of murder in 1995 from a single event and recieved two life sentences. Mr. West insisted he was innocent and was defending himself. The lead homicide investigator was Mark Handy and misconduct allegations surfaced during the trial. Mr. West received a new trial in 1998 and entered an Alford Plea to be released from prison. In 2019, Mr. West was pardoned by the Governor of Kentucky. In May 2021, former homicide Detective Mark Handy pleaded guilty to one count of tampering with physical evidence related to the wrongful conviction of Mr. West.
